London is a large city & the capital of england.
Even though many people exEect all the people of london to be cheerful cockney characters straight out of Dickens, nothing could be less true. in actual fact, London is a diverse place that boasts residents of all nationalities and religions. as a result, it’s estimated that more than three hundred different languages are used in the city.
London has an interesting history that goes back over 2,000 years. along this time, the city has expanded to become one of the financial and cultural capitals of the world. its also suffered from the plague, devastating fire, civil war, & terrorism.
London suffered particularly along the second world war. It suffered bad damage from bombs along this time & 100s of 1000s of kids in the city were evacuated out to the country side to avoid the bombs. The most severe bombing occured between 7 September 1940 & 10 May 1941.
London is renowned for its wonderful museums and art galleries. One of the most well-known museums is the v and a, which was built in 1852. it’s the world’s biggest museum of decorative arts and design with a permanent collection of over 4 1/2 million pieces. these days, the museum covers a huge 12.5 acres and 145 galleries. it’s a big tourist attraction and, in 2006, it had 2,400,000 visitors.
London has some of the perfect stores in the world. Whether you are looking for designer fashion, souvenirs or tasty food, you are sure to find the activities you want here.
One of the city’s most well known stores is harrods, which is in knightsbridge. This department store is one of the world’s most famous and was established in 1834. now run by Mohamed Al Fayed, it employs over five thousand people and has many designer concessions.
London has a vast range of things to do after dark, which contain exclusive wine bars, nightclubs & theatres.
London’s theatres cater to every funds & taste. From cheap eats like Pizza Express, Pizza Hut & Bella Italia, to high end theatres, you will be spoilt for choice. The city also has a vast range of Michelin starred theatres, including Tom Aikens, Umu & Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, although you will have to book far in advance for a table at one of these locations.
As it is such a enormous place, London is really easy to get to. in actual fact, it is well connected by rail and boasts some big railway stations, which contain London Bridge, London Victoria, London Euston and Liverpool street. in addition to this, the city also boasts three big airports, Heathrow; Stanstead and Luton.
Driving in London can be hard due to the congestion charge, however the city boasts a marvellous underground and bus network to help people get about.

If you’re looking for something to fill up your wall space and make it look more interesting, why not try contemporary art. Contemporary art, in itself, doesn’t always have to mean anything. Contemporary art is often not a direct representation of something in its true form, but rather it is an abstract representation of it. Contemporary art comes in many different styles – some are wild splashes of loud color, others have smooth lines and warm colors that give a sense of calm when looked upon. Many of these contemporary art pieces were painted a long time ago – some of them from famous artists that are known to many of us. Having a reproduced print of these artist’s great works will definitely be an interesting addition to your home. Imagine having an art piece in your living room that was originally painted by Pablo Picasso or Georgia O’Keeffe – that would be nice wouldn’t it? As contemporary art stretches across so many genres and forms, it would suit very well with most home decorating styles.
Once you have bought your favorite art piece, explore unique ways of presenting it to your audience. If you have several pieces of art that you want to hang on the wall, try grouping them creatively to add a more interesting look. If the art piece is small enough, why not frame it and place it on a shelf or side table – it’s nice to be able to pick it up to have a closer look once in a while. Art doesn’t have to be hung on the wall. You can simply place it on the floor and lean it against a wall or a piece of furniture, perhaps against a cupboard or side table – just make sure that the art piece will not obstruct walkways, and that it isn’t too large or too small that would make it look out of place.
Just hanging a solitary piece of art on the wall may not be enough, why not tell a story by including accessories or other decorative ornaments to compliment the art work. For example, if you have a piece of Asian contemporary art on the wall, you can place a small coffee table below it and decorate it with Asian antiques – maybe include some stone carvings of Buddha, or perhaps a few candles or flowers to add more variety and complete the look. Make sure that the items you choose will suit the theme of the art piece and not steal attention away from it.
Once the art is hung on the wall, use creative lighting to bring attention to it and to give it a stunning look. This will certainly lend excitement and be a point for interesting conversation, especially in the evenings when you’re having a nice cocktail party with your guests – or perhaps enjoying some special time alone with a loved one.
There are many exciting ways you can display your art in your home. This article only highlights a few of them. Be daring and unique – let your hair down when it comes to creativity. There are no hard and fast rules in interior decorating. If you’re short on ideas, look through your favorite home decorating magazines and books to draw new inspiration. The creative possibilities are endless.

Michele Cardello asked:
Most people pay little attention to the frame that surrounds a picture, dismissing it as simply a convenient way to hang the piece from a wall. However, frames have been around almost as long as art and, over the years, have become appreciated as something more than the “finishing touch” that adds dramatic flair to the pictures they enclose.
There is a wide variety of decorative picture frames available, whether you choose to shop for them at the local mall or have a custom frame designed specifically for a particular piece of art. Brightly-colored, ready-made frames can proclaim “It’s a boy!” while providing a spot to show off the newest addition to the family. Others are designed to look like everything from the family car to a favorite pet with slots for the pictures you want to display.
If your budget will allow you to spend a little more on the frame for a particular piece, there are styles that reflect the elegance of bygone eras while others add dramatic flair to the art you want to showcase in your home. It pays to shop around and look at different types of decorative picture frames before you decide which ones are right for you. There are Internet sites where you can download a copy of the art you want to frame, and then see how it looks in a range of styles. This free feature can be especially valuable if you’re just starting to decorate or are considering renovations to your home.
Sometimes, homeowners prefer a unified look, adding the same type of frame to the art that decorates every room, while others choose different styles that reflect the taste of individual family members. While it may not seem at first as important as where you’re going to place that new sofa, decorative picture frames can add or subtract much from the overall style of a room.
When hanging pictures, remember that some pieces are best shown individually, while others are more effectively displayed as a group. When grouping pieces of art together, it isn’t always necessary to select the same frame for every picture. While the decorative picture frames don’t necessarily have to match each other, however, they should relate to at least some of the furnishings in a room. If your tastes run toward country or more traditional furnishings, it is often advisable to look at wood frames first. If you enjoy modern or eclectic décor, then the clean lines of metal will probably work best.
Some people enjoy using just frames to decorate their living space. A variety of gilt-edged, ornate frames, interspersed with different colors or textures of contemporary styles, can sometimes create an interesting accent in a room. It can also be an inexpensive decorating choice because unique finds often turn up at flea markets and garage sales.
The history of decorative picture frames can be traced back centuries to the early years of the Christian church. While a type of border or frame appeared around art about 3,000 years ago, the church first used the type of frame we are more familiar with to define religious art. The heavy, jeweled-encrusted frames sometimes were as elaborate as the colorful images they enclosed.
With the advent of the Renaissance in the 15th century, wealthy aristocrats and merchants decided that their portraits deserved an equally fine setting, so they commissioned craftsmen to create elegantly carved frames that reflected their social status. The value of hand-crafted frames increased as the importance of art grew in the western world.
Over the years, decorative picture frames have changed to reflect contemporary tastes. But classic styles, such as Baroque and Rococo, are still favored by many homeowners for traditional art. So, even though you can’t sit on them to test their comfort, or you can’t taste them to see if they’re the right flavor, decorative picture frames are an integral part of creating a home that is uniquely yours. Choose the ones that are right for you.

Jesse Akre asked:
It used to be kids bedroom furniture consisted of a bed and a dresser. Well, no more. Today’s kids bedroom furniture is an adventure waiting to happen, whether it’s on the high seas, in the jungles of Africa or around the ovals of NASCAR.
About a decade ago, the first race car beds came on the scene, Complete with steering wheel and faux racing slicks, the bed was the first kids bedroom furniture that was functional as well as extremely fun. Kids all over the world no longer dreaded going to sleep. Instead, they hopped into their bed and drove off into a night filled with dreams of winning at Daytona or Indianapolis.
With its success, it was inevitable that other manufacturers jumped on the themed kids bedroom furniture bandwagon. Now there are pirate ships, tree houses, princess beds and beds with slides to keep kids’ busy before bedtime. Plus, it’s not hard to get a child to go to bed on time when the adventure of kids bedroom furniture awaits them.
When creating a themed room for kids bedroom furniture, consider adding other pieces to the room to support the main pieces. This may include wallpapers, wall décor, art or lighting that make the room look cohesive. For example, you can add a nautical lamp to a pirate themed room as well as a wall set that has pirates and even a full sized ship on it.
For little girls, the life of a princess can take on an entirely new meaning with kids bedroom furniture. A canopied bed and matching vanity can work wonders for your little princess and provide hours of play time fun.
As your child grows, of course, kids bedroom furniture can too. As the teenage years approach, chances are your children won’t want themed furniture any more. Luckily, kids bedroom furniture comes in a wide range of styles for older kids too.
If your son or daughter has friends over often, consider a bunk bed. The newer models of kids bedroom furniture offer a twin up top and a full size bunk below. Many even have desks tucked into the end for studying.
New ideas have fundamentally changed the way kids bedroom furniture is designed these days. This is particularly true with the traditional twin bed. Designers realized that space is always a premium for children of all ages and that the space above a bed usually goes to waste.
Their solution: Raise the kids bedroom furniture up on posts and use the space below for additional seating or as a workspace. Now kids have a place to study, play video games and work on hobbies in a space that used to be unavailable.
When selecting kids bedroom furniture for the home, be sure you keep in mind your children’s interests and lifestyle. Choose a bed and other kids bedroom furniture that can grow with them over time or be handed down to their little brother or sister. You’ll be amazed how fast the years go by and having kids bedroom furniture that can grow with the family is a good strategy.

Sean Donahoe asked:
Choosing the best frame for your art is one of the most important parts of buying art for your home or office. What may have looked great when purchasing may look terrible by the time you have it on your wall and leave you dissatisfied, or worse, wanting to return your art to the supplier.
How can you avoid this situation? Well, it’s all about balance…
Whether you are purchasing your art online or from a brick and mortar art store you have to consider not only which wall the art may be going on but also the surrounding objects that add elements of color to the wall itself.
Let me give you an example by picturing the following. We have a white wall, with some dark vertical shelves, a small potted plant in a tan vase and a soft light. Next, we are online ordering our art and find a wonderful piece that is a beautiful rolling landscape that we must have. Now let’s choose the frame. First, let’s consider the wall. It is very light (white) and has accents in tan (the vase), green (the potted plant) and black (the shelves). The ideal frame in this situation is something that stands out from the largest block of color in this area, the wall. We should consider a dark frame rather than a light frame. Next, we need to complement these element colors – the vase and the shelves – so that our framed art does not look out of place when mounted on the wall. We complement these colors by choosing a nice dark tan, brown or black color for our frame to really offset these accent items.
You can fine tune the style by choosing extra trim options. Look at the smaller elements in the room. What colors are you dealing with? Do you have red or gold books on those shelves? Maybe a small statue or ornament lives on top of the shelves. What kinds of shapes are used in the furniture in the room? Are you seeing a lot of curves or straight edges? Ideally, you want the shape and trim of the frame to complement these subtle sub-elements in your room.
Next it is time to choose the mats. Mats are heavy paper inserts that create a more polished look or even a embossed effect to make your art really stand out. In many cases this comes down to personal preference. However, as a general rule of thumb, to create the decorative illusion that the art was designed to be part of the room, you should choose matting that complements the color of the wall but also contrasts with the primary colors in the art itself. You can often use double matting to soften transitions of color or create virtual blend to soften any harsh colors in the art itself. Ideally, have the two mats should compliment each other.
With a little care and consideration about the area you want to place your framed your art within, you can make any art blend into your home with good framing and matting choices. One final tip – if you are purchasing art online or at a brick and mortar retailer, take a picture of the wall to compare with your framing options and matting. That way you have an accurate representation of the colors and it will help you remember the exact shades you may be dealing with.
