Artists: would you want your paintings back in this case?
My boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend is an artist. When they were together, she painted him a series of very nice original works, and they stayed on his walls until recently. When they broke up (almost two years ago), she didn’t ask for them back. Now he’s moving into a new place, and they don’t fit in as well with the decor, plus he feels strange keeping up his ex’s art.
Should he mail them back to her? Give them away on Craigslist? Something else? They are not on speaking terms, nor are they likely to ever be, but the pieces are rather nice and it seems like a shame to just throw art away.
well, as we all get to our junior year in high school, we revel in the fact that now we are part of the elite. Then we duck behind a corner and panic about the impending applications and tests.
I myself have been drawn to the art world- and while looking around at institutions, i found CalArts and kinda liked it. Since high school, i participated in making props for plays and i am proud i can make realistic furniture and decor with only house paint and cardboard. In fact, the school kept one of my murals permanently to use in their annual jazz dance. So i was thinking of attending their theater department and work on props.
And so i was wondering, does anybody have any suggestions about getting there (portfolio contents)? what i should do when i get there?
If you don’t, do you have a suggestion for another art school?
replies are very welcome.
Months ago I was working on a project for school where I needed to make a collage of b&w photos. I used the poster-store website art.com for many of them, including this one: http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/6397/girlbikeum7.png
Now that I want to buy a poster of it, since it matches my new room decor perfectly, I regret not bookmarking the page. I’ve been trying to find it for a few hours now, but still haven’t seen it. Does anyone have any idea what the photo is called, or where specifically on art.com or perhaps allposters I could find it? Thanks ![]()
Heather – Thanks, that would be a good idea, but I’ve checked the Kinko’s site and apparently you need written approval from the photographer to print copies of anything that isn’t yours. + I’m sure its awfully expensive.
My room was recently re-painted. The walls are a tan color with one accent wall that is a cornflower/periwinkle blue. I would like some ideas on cheap DIY ideas for my walls. Something like cutting a picture in half or thirds and putting it on picture frames in a sequence. Pictures of the craft would be great just so I can get a feel of what it looks like.
I am sooooo indecisive about these things, so ladies and gents, I am looking for a little help in selecting a living room set…
I was all ready to buy this 2 piece sectional (micro-fiber mocha color) and then I saw a 2 piece sofa and chair with wood trim, that also is very nice….. My decor is a combo of african american art, abstract canvas art. We just painted our walls a chestnut tan color, and will soon have hardwood floors installed.
Here are the links to both sets:

If you click on the picture it will zoom it in for a nice closer look
The 2 piece set also comes in TAN
The sectional is simliar to this without the chaise

Which one do you think would look best with hardwood floors, african american art and canvas art??
Thanks!!!

Hi all,
I am a big disney fan, and i heard that you can buy old style disneyworld/disneyland posters? E.g. old Magic Kingdom replica posters like the ones they have up around the parks. Just thought it would make a great bit of home decor for the study. I have found a few disney art sites but havent managed to find actual theme park posters. Can anyone offer any suggestions??
Cheers!
