well, as we all get to our junior year in high school, we revel in the fact that now we are part of the elite. Then we duck behind a corner and panic about the impending applications and tests.
I myself have been drawn to the art world- and while looking around at institutions, i found CalArts and kinda liked it. Since high school, i participated in making props for plays and i am proud i can make realistic furniture and decor with only house paint and cardboard. In fact, the school kept one of my murals permanently to use in their annual jazz dance. So i was thinking of attending their theater department and work on props.
And so i was wondering, does anybody have any suggestions about getting there (portfolio contents)? what i should do when i get there?
If you don’t, do you have a suggestion for another art school?

Such as paintings and pictures/decor to hang on my walls? Are there any sites I can order such art from? I’m mainly speaking of the ancient Japanese goddess, the Roman/Greek goddesses and possibly Egyptian deities. Or if there are any Azna statues or art that I can order?
Also, pictures of Mary (the Virgin Mary) are also fine (and yes I know in the Christian/Catholic theology people don’t see her as a goddess, but to me she’s special and she does have a place of standing on her own).

Preferably small pictures, between $10-40 USD
My room was recently re-painted. The walls are a tan color with one accent wall that is a cornflower/periwinkle blue. I would like some ideas on cheap DIY ideas for my walls. Something like cutting a picture in half or thirds and putting it on picture frames in a sequence. Pictures of the craft would be great just so I can get a feel of what it looks like.
For the past 4 years or so I’ve been doing art using found objects such as metal, wood, glass, ornate objects to produce various types of decor.
My year 12 studio art class has been asked to do an exhibit and the work will become the decor in one of our local bars and i really need ideas. the topic is colour. i can use any medium but i only have a week to complete it so any idea would be great. thanks!
