Big AZ Guy asked:
Hello,
Hello,
We have black leather furniture in a room that is painted ivory. The other color in the room is grey (shag rug and recliner), but we’re looking for something different to do with the pillows on the couch. Our decor is mainly a mix of modern / art deco / art nouveau.
Any help with colors / fabric types would be appreciated.

A deep plum or wine color would compliment the black/ivory/gray. (Red isn’t bad, either – I just think the others would be more dramatic and look ‘richer’.) Sage green is also a possibility (although, in my opinion, not quite as striking or dramatic as a red/purple tone would be). A deep cobalt blue is also striking, but a little more difficult to pull of and may not be quite so easy to find the perfect shade. A shade of orange would also be very cool – either a vibrant orange or a deeper burnt orange. Lots of possibilities for the colors you’ve selected to decorate your living room – you guys have a fabulous base to work from.
What colors do you use in the rest of your house? You can start looking there to see what other colors you can bring in which coordinate with that room and flows with the colors in the rest of your house. (It doesn’t have to match, but something that helps coordinate/tie it all in together.)
The room sounds very nice! Best wishes!!
