I’m painting some designs in my twin baby cousins’ nursery. I’m doing a few zoo animals that match their nursery decor. I already have the drawings on the walls now I just have to paint them. What type of paint should I use and where do I get it? I’ve read that I should use acryllic paint, but this can;t just be the type I would by in Michael’s art store can it? Also where can I get thin but sturdy brushes? Thanks!

you Can get that at Micheal’s but you could also go with a art supply store … there the sales people are artisy and can advise you as to what brushes to use ….technique etc.

I would use just normal cheap students acrylics because they’re non-toxic and will come off a lot easier than anything else – they don’t stay babies for long.

Yes,use the craft acrylics you get from Micheals or JoAnns or even Walmart. Apple Barrel,Ceramacoat etc are all good brands. Walmart carries a great package of decent brushes of all sizes for around 6.00. Soft sable works great.I actually love the white watercolor brushes because they are so soft. I even use those cheap throw away brushes for larger areas and just wash them well before to get out any loose bristles. Use better brushes for detailing etc. When you are done use a acrylic satin or flat-satin you can clean-clearcoat to protect it. You can even just use a sponge to wipe it down instead of brushing it on. Have fun-its paint and you can always paint over it if you make a mistake.
