No attacks here, on me or each other – - just please, I’d really be interested, people talk about quality of life – - – - what does that mean to you? And no attacks on Bush or the Democrats either – - – no “quality of life means no Pelosi” or “no Karl Rove” – seriously, what do you look for, why do you live where you live, what do you like about it? To quote Fee Waybill, “What do you want from life?”

Me I love my kids, I love the game of soccer, I love playing soccer with my kids, I love art, women wine and song – I love beauty. I love creation – I collect antique Asian (mostly Chinese) pieces, lot of cermics but some statues and carvings as well – not paintings though since I frame my kids’ paintings and hang those up – they do a lot of abstract pictures so it actually matches well with the rest of the decor. I love food way too much – and music: jazz, blues, classic r+b, some rock, some old country, some classical. And the beach, the sunrise over the Atlantic…

I think it means different things to different people. That is why I find it appalling when people make decisions for others based on their own definition of “quality of life”………..
It means the level of your contentment with your life, it is not the value or money you have.
quality of life for me is how you live. if you are existing but not living e.g.(almost dead), then there is no quality of life but if you are getting out there, doing as much as you can in your everyday life and not being afraid of death, then your quality of life is excellent.
For me ultimate quality of life means having all my body parts fully functional so that I am not hampered or impeded in any way in the process of living that daily life. Naturally, along with full physical function must go full mental competence.
With these as the absolute foundation for everything else, I want to always have enough food to sustain me, enough shelter to protect me, enough interraction with compatible fellow humans to nurture my emotional requirements, and enough mental and physical occupation to keep me sharp, alert, and healthy in both mind and body.
As long as I have these I will consider I have the ultimate quality of life that I will be glad to have continue for as long as it does. When I feel that things have slipped below my own personal acceptable level of such quality, to where I no longer feel any joy in the hours of my days, I shall be ready to depart this world. If it seems to me that the natural course of things might keep me dragging on too long in that reduced state, then I shall consider taking my own course of action.
I wish for peace in the wars, also more help for the low income people, especially health care.
I have 2 beautiful daughters.
Live in Oklahoma in a small town of only about 12 businesses. Very peaceful and safe. We are all pretty close and there when needed.
I love the beautiful tress and scenery on the back country roads and we have many of them, and watching the birds and squirrels and the other wildlife. Knowing Jesus is with me all the time. I like Gospel music and country. I would love to see religion back in our schools and everywhere it was.
I lost my husband last year and fiances are very challenging right now.
so you enjoy big closets?
To me, it means having a good paying job and have my own place to live in once I have the money. I also enjoy researching a variety of topics in my spare time as well as playing computer and video games. Basically, a balance between work and leisure.
