The dragon symbolizes long life or longevity and wisdom. Chinese emperors think that they are the real dragons and sons of the heaven. Dragon can be seen in building in their imperial palaces. Dragons are symbols of imperial power.
Tradiotionally, the dragons are considered as the governors of rainfalls in chinese culture. They have the power to decide when and where to have rainfalls. The kings of water dragons live under the ocean. The dragon also plays an important part in Chinese Festivals . The Dragon Boat Festival became popular and is an international events now. The dragon dance is performed in the Chinese New Year’s parade. This dragon is used to repel evil spirits that would spill over the new year, and also on Oct. 10, chinese independence day.
Dragons are also a powerful and lucky sign of the chinese zodiac. They are considered lucky in love, tenacious, determined to get it, giving, intelligent, . But underneath it all, dragons are after power. This sign is compatible with the monkey or the rat.
